w.oodland
w.oodland is for w.ork / f.ocus.
it refers to both a physical place and this site, which gathers what happens there and elsewhere. the materials include photography, text, video, timelapses, and small online projects. photography sits at the center, while other forms aggregate around it.
w.ork benefits from sustained f.ocus: notice, examine, build, read, write, practice, repeat. some projects begin after a deep w.ork session followed by a long run with intentional f.ocus. entries follow from that attention. when distraction fragments it or redirects it elsewhere, the productivity envelope thins and coherence fades. this change is visible, and it matters.
projects begin as ideas. some return again and again and become practices. others resolve into a single tool, object, or brief experiment and remain as they are. some projects here span more than twenty years; others only bloom for a season.
w.oodland exists to collect what drew my attention.
